Project Description
| Exam Board: | AQA |
| About The Course: | A-level Photography provides students with opportunities to develop technical and aesthetic skills in both analogue and digital photography. A personal response is required, so projects are geared to students’ interests or future career plans. In addition to those who wish to use Photography as a means of artistic expression, students have the option to transfer skills from other subjects. An example being to experiment with pictorial depictions of theories or narratives from Psychology, Science or English Literature. This ability to transfer skills is much appreciated at interviews. Practical assignments are backed by research and analysis. Assessment is 60% coursework and 40% exam. The coursework includes the submission of a 1000 word written study. The exam paper is issued in February of year two and contains a comprehensive list of starting points, to which the student makes a response. This is guided in the classroom by teachers and culminates in a controlled assessment. |
