Why a T Level?
T Levels are two-year qualifications that equal 3 A Levels. However, rather than covering a broad range of subjects such as A Level maths and history, a T Level will allow you to develop a specialism in one specific area, e.g Digital Technologies.

Understanding how abstraction, decomposition and pattern recognition are used to solve problems.

|Learn computing system fundamentals including what physical, virtual and cloud computing are.
|The value of difference and being sensitive to the needs of others (Equality act 2010)
|Awareness of emerging technologies such as IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, Blockchain and 3D printers.
|The legislation that affects the use of digital technologies including:
|Why there is a need for planning and the principles of planning. This includes cost, cost benefit analysis, prioritisation.
|The importance of maintaining privacy and confidentiality. The processes that are used to ensure data stored on digital systems is kept safe from threats and the precautions that companies have to take.
|Understand the need for testing, the different types of testing that covers concept testing and usability testing.
|An understanding of what digital tools are and how they are used in business.
|Analyse a problem to define requirements acceptance criteria for a specific user.
|Design, Implement and test software.
|You will learn about the software development lifecycle and the methodologies that development companies use to produce their software. In addition, the roles that people have within a development team and what they do. Using this information you will learn how to analyse a given problem to identify the key requirements to make the project successful.
|In the design phase of the cycle you will learn how to design the User Interface, Back end data storage and key algorithms that will be needed to make the system work. You will also learn how to use tools including IDE’s and version control software (GIT). You will also learn to develop in at least 2 different high level languages. Once the implementation section is complete you will then learn how to test your code to ensure it performs efficiently using a range of tools and approaches.
|You will combine the core and specialist knowledge and skills to complete a project whilst on your work placement.
