About the Sixth Form
Painsley is ranked as one of the highest performing schools in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. This outstanding record in delivering excellent teaching and learning continues into our Sixth Form where it is enhanced with excellent enrichment opportunities, including numerous sports, societies, worldwide trips and work experience. We also provide a vast number of university visits with lectures, taster sessions and workshops where students have the opportunity to talk to and work with real-life practitioners.
Welcome from the Principal
Painsley already has an outstanding reputation for delivering academic excellence and is ranked as one of the highest performing school in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. This outstanding and proven record in delivering excellent teaching and learning continues in the Sixth Form.
Students have excellent enrichment opportunities, including numerous sports, societies, trips both in the UK and worldwide, and work experience. There are a variety of societies available, for example, a medical society which provides an enrichment opportunity for students wishing to enter the medical or medical-related professions. The enrichment programme includes a vast number of university visits with lectures, taster sessions and workshops where students have the opportunity to talk to and work with real-life practitioners.
There are a wide range of courses available at ‘A’ level and a number of vocational programmes. In addition, students have access to a personal tutor and mentor system where they are supported on a one-to-one basis throughout their studies.
The Sixth Form building provides students with a relaxed and mature learning environment which including: quiet study zones, group-work rooms and a Learning Resource Centre. In addition, students can relax and socialise with friends in the dining room and coffee-hub area.
This is a really exciting time for students to be joining the Painsley Sixth Form. It is not only crucial that students achieve their academic potential, but it is important that they enjoy their time with us, in a relaxed and mature Sixth Form environment. We welcome students from other secondary schools of all faiths and none.

Our Unique Approach
All students are offered a broad and balanced programme of study, including academic, enrichment and pastoral sessions. These are provided by our specialist teaching and pastoral staff. Students are encouraged to undertake private study in their non-timetabled lessons to enhance their learning.
